designer furniture

Would this be a good tool kit to make furniture?

I'm trying to make basic furniture and then eventually designer furniture. If not this what else tools are needed?
No.the light and sabre saw would be redundant.Basic furniture requires first of,accuracy.Your basic kit should consist of mostly hand tools.Knowing how to use and sharpen Your tools is paramount.A minimum kit should be:medium tooth hand saw.block plane.try square.accurate tape measure.small hammer.1/4.1/2 chisels.battery drill and bits.and the circular saw for sheet material work. These tools will permit you to make a box,and furniture can be thought of as a series of boxes,I would suggest you subscribe to "Fine Woodworking",but, be aware tool acquisition is highly addictive.Learn how to make accurate square sided boxes, and fit accurate boxes into them(drawers) and you begin to understand the basics of cabinet making.
