What is this? Old kitchen furniture?
Photo here; http://carinas.250free.com/Other/143.JPG three parts count table, top white is black and metal cut out some Porceline and has sieve, bread box and far right box is metal. White 1392 stamped on the back of the bottom sheet. Really I know what it is called, when it was, and if posable he did.
This is what they call the sort of expectation or Hoosier cabinets. Hoosier, Sellers, Boone, Napanee, McDougall. Some of the names of the past that represent the era of mom and apple pie, good smells coming from the kitchen, and a pair of manufacturers just to make one of the most popular pieces of kitchen furniture from the turn of the century until the end of 1940. Baker's cabinet, the cabinet kitchen, or more commonly known, that of Indiana. Yours does not look at an old "real" and more than a later model. They still make parts for these cabinets and I am sure that this can be madeover nice if you have the expertise and time and patience. What fun! Only a dealer antiques or someone with that knowledge you can get close, I know. Let me do a little research here and see if I can find something. A list of some of those responsible and you can do a search. Hoosier - New Castle, Indiana Sellers - Elwood, Indiana Napanee - Nappanee, Indiana (Coppes Bros. & Zook) McDougall - Frankfort, Indiana Greencastle - Greencastle, Indiana Diamond - Shelbyville, Indiana (CF Schmoe) Ideal - Vincennes, Indiana Boone - Lebanon, Indiana Wilson - Grand Rapids, Michigan (sold by Sears) Marsh - High Point, North Carolina (Marsh Furniture Company) I forgot to add a good place to find more information and pictures probably is in a Borders or Barnes and Noble. You can look up. I know I make books, because I've seen on Ebay. Would be in the collectibles section and search the cabinets. Good luck and it looks like a fun project.

While planning your baby nursery decor is a fun and exciting time, it's also a time to read up on safety issues concerning newborns. As you create your nursery decoration scheme, place a high priority on ensuring that everything you put into the room is child proof. By educating yourself on the design of furniture and infant hazards, you will create a safe and secure environment for your baby.
The crib is the primary piece in any baby nursery decoration scheme. Since most older cribs may not meet up-to-date safety standards, it's usually a smart move to just buy a new one rather than take the risk of using a family heirloom. Cribs that convert into beds and round cribs are a good and safe investment. If you are reusing a fairly new crib, make sure that all the screws, nuts and bolts are in place and tight secured. Also ensure that the mattress and bumper guards correctly fit with the crib and are still very sturdy. If the mattress or bumper guards appear worn, it's best to buy new ones so your baby is well supported.
A common baby nursery decoration for over the crib is a mobile. But it is also something that could fall and injure your baby if it is not properly installed. When adding mobiles and other colorful and playful nursery decoration pieces on the sides of the crib or over it, it's important not to make any modifications to the installation directions.
Changing tables are also a key nursery decoration furnishing. If using a hand-me-down, check all the hardware to ensure it is installed correctly, is tightly fastened and in good working condition. When buying new, consider furniture that adapts to your baby's growth, such as changing tables that can be converted into a dresser or chest.
As your child begins crawling, standing up and walking, your baby nursery decoration pieces might need some enhancements. Or you might need to redesign your baby nursery decor. Any furniture pieces that are unsteady or can topple over if a baby uses them as support for standing up should be anchored to the wall with furniture safety brackets. You also want to be sure furniture or other things that a baby can climb onto are away from windows. In addition, nursery decoration items like lamps, delicate knick knacks, or anything else that can break if the baby gets a hold of them should be moved to a higher location or affixed to the furniture.
When planning your baby nursery decoration for the windows, any cords from blinds or other window treatments should be secured on a bracket installed high along the wall or contained in a cord wind up device. Remember to install electrical plug covers on all electrical outlets, as well as smoke detectors.
Your little one is depending on you for its safety. Taking a few minutes to inspect your baby nursery decoration items will ensure that your newborn is well protected and remains safe and secure within the baby nursery décor you selected.

Brilliant furniture designs - On 28 February 1929, Frank Gehry was born in Toronto, Canada. Frank Gehry is among the pioneering and inventive architects of the world today as well as furniture designers. He relocated to Los Angeles with his family in 1947 where he associated with contemporary artists. He graduated from the University of South California in 1954 where he earned his undergraduate degree in architecture. Frank Gehry worked with firms such as Luckman associates, Pereira as well as Victor Gruen.
In 1962, Frank Gehry opened a small office in Santa Monica where his scope grew to include office buildings, libraries, furniture and exhibition designs to mention a few. Sophisticated computer software introduction facilitated his translation from model work to built form. Having over 140 employees, Frank Gehry and Associates covers several different countries such as Switzerland, Spain, Germany, France, the United States Scotland, and Japan among others.
Frank Gehry's architectural practice has had a lot of impact on his furniture designs. His furniture designs are fairly cheaper compared to other furniture designers. Frank Gehry is able to produce furniture that is not only functional but striking as well, from basic materials manipulated in very unconventional ways.
Between 1969 to 1973, Frank Gehry created his first designs called Easy Edges, from simple corrugated cardboard materials that have turned out to be his favourite material for his models. Frank Gehry began manipulating cardboard sheets when he found out that the cardboard gained exponential strength when layered.
Frank Gehry manipulated the basic cardboard materials into curvilinear, graceful tables and chairs. His finished products were not only striking but immeasurably durable as well. Between 1979 to 1982, Frank Gehry introduced the experimental edges, which were much bulkier cardboard pieces that had improvisational shaggy edges as well as featuring a rough appearance.
Frank Gehry created larger volumes of the furniture by using thick corrugated cardboard with pronounced texture, as well as altering their density by combining sheets of different widths within a single form. Frank Gehry created the undulating line as well as slight ripples by intentionally misaligning their stacks.
In 1992, Frank Gehry manufactured the Bent Wood Furniture design, whose initial prototypes that were meant for Knoll had serpentine lines of the initial Easy Edge collection. The Bent Wood Furniture material as well as the structural support were inspired by the seamless integrated bushel basket.
Frank Gehry was given an opportunity to conduct an intense investigation of the maple wood as well as its production process at a workshop that was right next to his office. Four chairs, two tables as well as one ottoman were marketed out of the 120 prototypes that were developed from the investigation.
By using unorthodox materials such as corrugated metals, cardboard as well as chain links to make most of his trademark furniture, it earned Frank Gehry the nickname iconoclast. The nickname referred to his interest in the expressive potential of materials for his furniture, as well as the work of several contemporary artists who happened to be his close friends.

How should I decorate a large bay window in the main living room?
I have a large bay window and I have no idea how to decorate it with window treatments. The window is in the main living room so it needs to be comfortable and not too formally decorated. There is a ledge that was designed for people to sit in, but currently it is not used for that. I would like to keep the window's sitting feature, but at the same time dress the window so it does not look so plain.
You could just get a blind, maybe silhouettes, so it just covers the windows themselves. Or you could do a drape, but only have it come to the sill or molding portion of the window. This way if you do decide to put pillows on there for sitting, you don't have to worry about the drape being pulled on.
